Master Scientist:
George Washington Carver

George Washington Carver created over 300 products from the peanut and over 100 products from the sweet potato.  George Washington Carver studied and graduated at Iowa State in Botany and Agriculture.  Carver was the first Black to graduate with an undergraduate and masters degree from Iowa State.  Carver was the father of many inventions that had and still has a major impact on people all over the world and from all walks of life.  For instance, Carver was the first to introduce Crop Rotation in the United States.  Crop Rotation had a significant impact on the farming community in the South.  He revitalized the economy in the South with the introduction and implementation of crop rotation.  He invented a chemical that sticks chocolate to peanuts which resulted in him becoming the father of such popular Hershey's candies like the Mr. Goodbar and the Reese's Cup.

George Washington Carver was in tune with nature so much so he was able to communicate with the plants.  Carver dialog with the plants was significant in developing many wonderful products.  His constant communication with the plants was the basic foundation to the creation of many useful products.  He took the knowledge he learned from the plants and combine it with the book knowledge he learn as a botanist.  That combination produced so many wonderful products useful to man.  He was able to transform that plant knowledge into wonderful food and cosmetics products.  His Peanut Rubbing Oil was one of those inventions that is still the most effective natural pain reliever on the market today.

 Carver and Plant Life
The master scientist George Washington Carver had a strong communication with plant life.  Carver would wake up early in the morning to converse with the plants. Sometimes as early as 3am to converse with the plants.

Carver Communicating with Plant Life

Booker T. Washington

Booker T. Washington was born into slavery on April 5, 1856. Booker T. Washington founded Tuskegee Institute in 1881, now called Tuskegee University.  Booker T. Washington emphasized "Self Help" and adopted nation building as Tuskegee Institute's mission statement.  He was an intelligent man with character and charisma that built Tuskegee into a strong college.  Tuskegee Institute was nicknamed "The Tuskegee Machine" through the strong leadership of Booker T. Washington.  Carver was invited to lead the Agricultural Department at Tuskegee by Booker T. Washington in 1895 while Carver was completing his masters at Iowa State.  Carver decided to accept Booker T. Washington's invitation in 1896.  Carver helped Booker T. Washington build Tuskegee into a wonderful college.

Carver accepted Booker T. Washington's invitation in 1896 to build the schools Agricultural Department.  Booker T. Washington recognized the greatness in Carver.  Carver as well recognized the greatness in Booker T. Washington.  Great men tend to recognize each other's greatness.  Booker T. Washington knew that Carver would have a great impact on sharping Tuskegee's Agricultural school into a strong entity of Tuskegee's college. From one great man to the next.  Both men made Tuskegee University into a powerhouse school.

     Carver's Plant                   Research
Carver loved to study plant life so much so that he was able to communicate with plants.  If you don't believe people can't communicate with plant life just take the time and watch the Secret Life of Plants.  The movie is currently out of print and can only be seen on YouTube. The movie is a Disney production and the sound track was created by Stevie Wonder.

The Black Orchid

The Secret Life of
Stevie Wonder wrote a song highlighting the contributions of Dr. George Washington Carver from the soundtrack of the Secret Life of Plants.  The song entitled "Same Old Song" not only gave tribute to Carver for his work and research with plants but also gave tribute to the Indian scientist Bose for his research with plants. Stevie Wonder's song was picked by Elements 4 Nature (E4N) and is played in the background of E4N Blog's Home web page.

The master scientist George
Washington Carver spent many hours working in the laboratory at Tuskegee. Carver spent just as many hours out in nature conversing with plant life. Carver did a masterful job in combining his many hours studying with his hours spent in nature.  Carver had a strong relationship with God, the creator.  He gave God all praises and credit the creator for what he accomplished.

The Secret Life of Plants

George Washington Carver was not ashamed to inform the public that he was able to communicate with plant life.  The peanut plant must have been Carver's best friend.  In the movie, The Secret Life of Plants, scientist proved the communication of the plant life with humans.  In the movie there are several eye popping experiments to prove that what Carver was during a large portion of his life was real and true.

Stevie Wonder pays tribute to George Washington Carver with his song,"Same Old Song".  The Secret Life Of Plants movie is out of print.   However, you can still see it on YouTube.  When you see this movie, you will be shocked of how much information is contained in it.  Elements 4 Nature is fortunate to have a copy of this movie.  The Secret Life of Plants contains some unbelievable footage of the Dogon Tribe and how they were able to map out the planets and stars of the universe without having any scientific instruments to assist them.  However, what was equally eye popping, was the verification of man's communication with plant life.  In  the movie, a plant was hookup to an oscilloscope and an amplifier.  The plant was able to repeat vocally everything the woman scientist would say.  So if you ever wondered whether Carver talked to the plants, you need not wonder about it any more.  Carver had numerous conversations with plant life.  He had to have made friends with a number of plants throughout his years on earth.  Give credit to Stevie Wonder for thinking out of the box to record the sound track for The Secret Life of Plants movie and to recognize Carver accomplishments in it.  On our E4N Blog home page, the audio playing in the background is Stevie Wonder's tribute to Carver from the Secret Life of Plants soundtrack song, called the "Same Old Song".

George Washington Carver and Dr. Curtis in Tuskegee Lab

George Washington Carver and Dr. Austin W. Curtis worked together during Carver's last eight years at Tuskegee.  George Washington r. Carver admired Dr. Curtis so much so that he considered him like a son.  As a matter of fact, Carver wrote Dr. Curtis's father saying that he wanted to adopt Dr. Curtis as his son.  Carver's admiration of Dr. Curtis likely came from the recognition that both experienced similar obstacles in attaining educational excellence.  Dr. Curtis graduated with a doctorate's degree in Chemistry from Cornell University.  Before then, Dr. Curtis attained his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from North Carolina A&T University.  Dr. Curtis brought a strong knowledge base background of Chemistry to Carver's Tuskegee research lab.  Both learned from each other, Carver being the Master Scientist with his foundation as an agriculture chemist and botanist and Dr. Curtis with his advance knowledge in the techniques of Chemistry.  Dr. Curtis used his knowledge in Chemistry to enhance some of George Washington Carver's original formulas.

George Washington Carver was impressed by Dr. Curtis knowledge in Chemistry so much so Carver gave Dr. Curtis his popular Peanut Rubbing Oil formula to sell to the public.  Dr. Curtis said the following about Carver giving him his popular Peanut Rubbing Oil formula: "For the last eight years of Carver's life, we worked side by side.  Our friendship grew to where we looked upon each other as father and son.  I remember when Carver gave me his formula for rubbing oil.  He said, 'Austin put your name on this rubbing oil and use my picture'. That was the beginning of the Curtis Rubbing Oil."  Dr. Curtis's nickname was baby Carver because he was known as a exceptional scientist also.  George Washington Carver and Dr. Curtis (picture above left) spent a lot of time researching the peanut in the Tuskegee lab.  When Carver died in 1943,  Dr. Curtis left Tuskegee and started Curtis Labs in Detroit.   Dr. Curtis was able to market and sell the cosmetic products that Carver shared with him.  Dr. Curtis even developed his own line of peanut based hair care products.  Curtis Labs became a huge cosmetics company based in Detroit for a number of years.  Dr. Curtis had two daughters, however, his daughters were not interested in continuing his business.  Therefore, Dr. Curtis sold his company in 2000.  Dr. Curtis died in 2003 and sold Curtis Labs to Natural Health Options (NHO) before he died.  If it was not for Dr. Curtis efforts in working closely with Carver,  Carver wonderful products would not be available to be purchased by the public today.  NHO is own by Dr. Faye Williams.  Dr. Faye Williams also needs to get credit for continuing the efforts that Dr. Curtis started in having Carver products available to be purchased by the public.  In addition to NHO selling Carver based products, Dr. Faye Williams established a strong partnership with Elements 4 Nature to re-market and distribute George Washington Carver and Dr. Curtis products in 2007.  George Washington Carver products as well as some of Dr. Curtis wonderful peanut based products are now available for anyone to purchase through Elements 4 Nature website.  Click on the Peanut Rubbing Oil (picture above right) above link to purchase some of Carver's wonderful Peanut Rubbing Oil.   George Washington Carver said the following about his Peanut Rubbing Oil:

"Truly God is working through these Peanut Oils I am working with.  Marvelous, some come to me on crutches, canes, etc., and in time go away walking."

The Peanut Rubbing Oil is by far one of most popular and effective product that Carver produced from the peanut.  Go to the Home Page and click on the links and you will see all of the other wonderful products that George Washington Carver and Dr. Curtis developed.

Carver's Connection to the Ancient African Egyptians

The master scientist George Washington Carver paint
process was identical to the
Ancient Black African Egyptians.
So much so he created a
blue color that matched the
unique blue color found in
King Tut's tomb. What's so
amazing is that Carver knew
that he matched the color after he created it.  When he
created that unique blue
color, he called it Egyptian Blue 9th Oxidation.

 Facts On Carver:
Take a historical journey
with Yasir Khalid (Carver Reseacher) and Jon
Adkins on George Washington Carver's time while at Tuskegee.  Filmed on location at Tuskegee
University, this DVD gives
a unique perspective of
the late great Dr. George
Washington Carver.  What
was Carver's everyday life routine on Tuskegee's campus? This film was made through
the eyes of two former
Tuskegee students.  This is the
first DVD of Carver which documents Carver creating an Egyptian Blue that matches the blue found in King Tut's tomb.

George Washington Carver and the Egyptian Connection

The Master Scientist George Washington Carver paint process was identical to the ancient Egyptians.  Carver used the clay dyes from the dirt in Tuskegee Alabama to create his different color paints. His paints were known to last beyond it's years.  Carver created a unique color blue that matched a unique blue color found in King Tut's ancient Egyptian tomb.  No one else in modern history had match this particular blue color with the ancient Egyptians before other than what Carver did.

What was so amazing about Carver matching that unique blue color of items found in King Tut's tomb was that he knew it when he created that blue color. Carver specifically named the color Egyptian Blue. Let's take a closer look at this event.  Carver started his research at Tuskegee from the time he arrived in 1896 and continued to the time he died in 1943.  King Tut tomb was re-discovered by the European Egyptologist, Howard Carter in 1922.  It took however, Howard Carter and his colleagues 10 years to clear out King Tut tomb and specifically document what was there.  In 1932 is the first time anyone in modern times saw the unique blue color items in the tomb.  We know Carver did not travel to Egypt to see King Tut's tomb.  The question is when was King Tut's exhibit made available for public viewing?  I'm not sure that King Tut's tomb was made available for public viewing between 1932 and 1943 when Carver died. We know there was no public viewing of King Tut's tomb before 1932.  We now know that Carver came up with the Egyptian Blue color in 1930 or sooner than 1930.  Atlanta Constitution wrote an article about Carver supplying Gandhi with instructions on a good healthy diet.  In that article on December 1930, they also talked about how Carver came up with the long lost Egyptian Blue color that was used in the ancient tombs of Egypt.  So we know now it was either in 1930 or sooner that Carver re-discovered the Egyptian Blue.  So Carver came up with the Egyptian Blue color before Howard Carter had a chance to itemize all of the items found in King Tut's Tomb. Is it possible Carver could had created that Egyptian Blue color before Howard Carter's team re-discovered King Tut tomb in 1922? That's a good possibility.  Remember, Carver named that unique blue color Egyptian Blue!  The curious question is, how did Carver know when he re-discovered the Egyptian Blue that it was the same blue that the Ancient Egyptians used? The answer, Carver knew through advanced scientific calculations.  He was operating on a conscious level of his ancient Black African or ancient Egyptians ancestors.  More on this curious topic at a later date.

Carver's Peanut

Carver created over 300 products from the Peanut
George Washington Carver was a unique man who spent a lot of time studying in the laboratory as well as establishing a strong communication with God and God's creation.  He developed a skill in communicating with plant life.  He was a man light years ahead of his time.  One of Carver's famous quotes dealt with his communication with nature.  Carver said the following about nature:

“I love to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting station, through which God speaks to us every hour, if we will only tune in.”

His philosophy and way of life lead him to create many wonderful things. He created over 300 products from the peanut alone. He was functioning at a high level of spiritual consciousness.  We can learn allot from Carver's life.  Carver's life and what he was able to accomplish is a testimony to how one should live. Trusting and depending on God is the key, as well as putting the work in to study. Carver used the combination of both; acknowledging God's power and his endless hours of study.  He was able to create many things based on that philosophy of life.

George Washington Carver: Father of many popular Candies

George Washington Carver does not get any credit for his inventions in the candy industry.  This man is responsible for such candies like Hershey's most popular Mr. Goodbar and the Reese's Cup.

George Washington Carver second edition of his Bulletin Number 31 was release in 1925, called "105 Way to prepare the Peanut for Human Consumption".   In that bulletin, he was the first one to introduce chocolate covered peanuts. Carver created a chemical that would stick peanuts to chocolate.  This was the foundation of Hershey's Mr. Goodbar.  Also in that bulletin was the first time anyone ever mixed peanut butter with chocolate.  This was the foundation of Hershey's Reese's Cup.  Hershey's introduced and started selling the Mr. Goodbar to the public in 1925 after Carver's second edition of Bulletin #31 was released in 1925.  Carver's first edition of Bulletin #31 was released in 1916.  Hershey's have made billions of dollars over the years on the Mr. Goodbar as well as the Reese's Cup.   Hershey's Candy should be a major contributor or donor to Tuskegee University because of what they have profited from for many years is mainly due to George Washington Carver invention found in the Agricultural Bulletin #31.  If you think about it, when Hershey's called their candy bar, Mr. Goodbar.  They may have called it after Carver to honor him.   Why would you arbitrarily call a candy bar after a name of a man figure?  That's something to think about.

   The One-Horse           Farmer

George Washington Carver used the Jessup Wagon to get the agricultural knowledge to poor Black Farmers.  Carver wrote a total of 44 Agricultural Bulletins in which he used to provide vital farming knowledge and techniques to Black Farmers in the South. The picture above shows the Jessup Wagon in the Carver Museum.

George Washington Carver: The Father of Meat Substitutes

Most people are not aware of the contributions that George Washington Carver made to the vegetarian or vegan cuisine.  Carver is the father of meat substitutes. Today Mock meats in general particularly mock chicken is a large part of the vegetarian cuisine, thanks to Carver.

George Washington Carver created meat substitutes not because he was a vegetarian. We don't know what he ate in his daily diet.  He created meat substitutes because most poor Blacks in the south could not afford to buy meat.  Meat is a main source that supplies protein to the body.  We also know that peanuts are rich in supplying protein to the body.  Meat substitutes were a less expensive way to feed poor Blacks in the south.  Carver taught poor Black farmers to make meat substitute from the excessive peanut crop.  Which is what Chemurgy is, re-using the excess from one product into something useful and functional for another product. Carver is known to be the father of Chemurgy also.

George Washington Carver made revolutionary discoveries while at Tuskegee

Milbank Agricultural Building (below left) on Tuskegee's campus is where George Washington Carver did his research and development. Carver was the first man to use Corp Rotation in the United States.  Corp Rotation was first used successfully by the ancient Egyptians.  Corp Rotation is basically defined as using methods to conserve the nutrients in the soil.  In the south, over the years of just planting cotton had depleted the soil of it's nutrients.

Milbank Agricultural

   The Carver Museum
George Washington Carver introduce corp rotation to the farmers of the south.  Carver implemented methods and techniques to improve the soil by planting peanuts, sweet potatoes and pecans which enriched the depleted soil. By alternating planting cotton crops with planting peanuts, sweet potatoes, soybeans and pecans, corp rotation resulted in improved cotton yields.  Carver trained farmers to successfully rotate and cultivate the new crops.  Carver trained framers by the distribution of information through his Agricultural Bulletins that he wrote.  Carver wrote a total of 44 Agricultural Bulletins throughout his years at Tuskegee to help and assist farmers particularly the one-horse farmer or poor Black farmers. The 44 Agricultural Bulletins along with the development of the Jessup Wagon were necessary in helping poor black farmers survive in the south.  Most Black farmers did not have the time or resources to make trips to Tuskegee.  So Carver developed the Jessup Wagon and the Agricultural Bulletins to take the information to them.

Peanut Rubbing Oil
George Washington Carver's Peanut Rubbing Oil is one of Carver's popular and most effective product that he made from the peanut. The following is a quote from Carver about his Peanut Rubbing Oil:

"Truly God is working through these Peanut Oils I am working with.  Marvelous, some come to me on crutches, canes, etc., and in time go away walking."

Chocolate Covered Peanuts
Mr.GoodBar came about as a result of Carver's inventions.  Hershey's Candies should be a major donor to Tuskegee University because they have made billions of dollars over the years from George Washington Carver invention.
Mock Meats
Carver is the father of mock meats.  From mock chickens to mock beef, Carver should be well respected in the vegan community.  Vegan restaurants should donate a percentage of their profits to Tuskegee University.
44 Agriculture Bulletins
Carver wrote 44 Agricultural Bulletins for the poor Black Farmers of the south.  He used the Jessup Wagon to the deliver these Agricultural Bulletins to the Black farmers who did not have the resources to make the trip to Tuskegee.
